Health care, law and insurance are mega-billion
dollar businesses and must advertise in order to attract customers.
Advertising is a highly developed science and many, many
people make their buying decisions based upon their emotions rather
than reason. Advertising works by playing upon your emotions…never
forget that!
Case in point.
Quack doctor Dr. Yul B. Overbilled (being heavily invested in snake
oil stock) does not recommend the book Overdosed America written
by the highly respected medical physician and author John
Abramson, M.D. Why? Lot's of reasons. One of which is because in his
book Dr. Abramson quoted advertising executive Ernestine McCarren,
"we want to identify the emotions we can tap into to get that
customer to take the desired course of action. If you can't find
that basic insight, you might as well forget everything else".
Drug advertisers are
among the very best at tapping into peoples emotions. Don't get
suckered in by psychological manipulation.
